Immortelle is known by the name 'everlasting flower'. Immortelle is a shrub that grows up to 40cm, with grey-green stems and hairy leaves, and characteristic small yellow flowers. In Slovenia, it grows in the Karst region, otherwise it can be found throughout the Mediterranean, mostly in Italy, France, Dalmatia, and North Africa. It blooms from July to August and is also used as a tea or spice. Traditionally, it is used as a diuretic (to remove excess water from the body), against pain, for liver cleansing, cholesterol regulation, detoxification of the entire body, against allergies, and for skin problems.

Immortelle essential oil is golden yellow to reddish in color and has an intense herbal, woody scent reminiscent of dry grass and honey. It is often used in scar care; immortelle oil mixed into a natural cream or carrier oil works well for skin regeneration, which is why it is also used for the care of wrinkles and fine lines, acne, and skin problems such as rosacea or seborrhea.

Immortelle oil softens the skin and helps protect it from drying out. Immortelle relaxes and helps against depression and for better sleep, and it also works well for problems with capillaries or veins. It is effective for various allergies and for massage against pain. Immortelle essential oil can be mixed with: bergamot, pepper, chamomile, all citrus fruits, clary sage, cloves, cypress, geranium, juniper, lavender, neroli, oregano, palmarosa, rose, rosemary, tea tree, thyme, vetiver, ylang-ylang.

The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of immortelle flowers.
