Krauterhof comfrey ointment or gel has a refreshing and invigorating effect for body care and tired, aching joints and muscles. The cooling gel contains comfrey extract, menthol, and camphor. It absorbs quickly and leaves a pleasant feeling on the skin. It is also suitable for tissue care in cases of swelling, bruises, and sprains. Comfrey gel is excellent for massaging overworked, tired, and aching muscles and joints. Comfrey ointment promotes the natural function of the skin and strengthens its defense mechanism. Comfrey in gel form has an antibacterial effect and inhibits the growth and reproduction of microbes, so it can also be used dermatologically in cases of atopic skin, and on areas of red and sensitive skin.
- Camphor has a beneficial effect on rheumatism and acts as a mild local anesthetic and antibiotic. Its scent relieves tension and emotionally relaxes us.
- Castor oil, which is rich in triglyceride fats, helps with joint pain, arthritis, cleanses the skin, and prevents eczema and skin diseases.
You can also grow comfrey in your garden. You can use it alone or make a cream or tincture from it. Watch an interesting video about growing comfrey in your home garden.

Use and warnings: Comfrey gel is for external use only. Due to the hepatotoxicity of the pyrrolizidine alkaloids it contains, comfrey gel should not be used internally, and externally only on intact skin, and not at all during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Gently massage the comfrey gel into the skin. In case of intense problems, comfrey ointment can be applied to the affected area twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening. It is recommended to take a break of several weeks or months after 3-4 weeks of use. During this time, we recommend using devil's claw gel as a substitute for comfrey ointment.
