Lime is a small evergreen tree with white flowers, sharp thorns, and sour fruits that resemble lemons in shape. The fruits are green both inside and out. It thrives in warm climates, especially in Italy, India, and South America. In ancient times, sailors on long voyages often consumed limes to protect themselves from scurvy due to their high vitamin C content. Lime is used to add flavor in the production of beverages and perfumes.
Lime essential oil is greenish-yellow in color and has a very fresh, sour-sweet scent, typical of citrus fruits. In aromatherapy, it has long been used to revitalize and uplift mood. It also acts as an astringent, making it suitable for use in products for impure, oily, and acne-prone skin. It tones the skin and is beneficial in anti-cellulite care. Oils it can be mixed with: Himalayan cedar, geranium, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, tangerine, neroli, nutmeg, sweet orange, palmarosa, rose, rosemary, rosewood, tangerine, vetiver, ylang ylang.
Usage: To scent a room, add a few drops to water in a diffuser. Similarly, you can add a few drops to a fragrant bath for a pleasant scent, or sprinkle it on wood or other surfaces, and the oil will slowly evaporate into the room, creating a pleasant aroma.
